Building History:
In 1812 Abelard Reynolds erected a frame dwelling on
this site, the tract of land then known as Rochesterville.
After the War of 1812, General Scott and staff were
entertained at the hostelry opened by Mr. Reynolds.
In 1828 Mr. Reynolds erected the Arcade, then the
finest building in Western New York State.

The Four Corners are formed by the intersection of West
Main and State Street and represent the center
for much of Rochester's legal and governmental action.
